Different Types of  Loft Conversion:

  • Dormer Loft Conversion
  • Mansard Loft Conversion
  • Eaves Loft Conversion

Mansard Loft Conversion

A mansard roof, with two slopes, has the advantage of maximising the available space within your loft. The lower slope is close to vertical at 72 degrees and the top section of the roof is almost horizontal. A Mansard attic conversion is commonly built by raising the party/gable walls on either side of your house to make the profile for the mansard and then creating the timber frame.

Dormer Loft Conversion

A dormer could be an extension to the existing roof, allowing additional floor space and headroom in lofts with limited space and allows more flexibility in the positioning of the staircase.

Eaves Loft Conversion

An eaves attic conversion is normally considered the easiest loft conversion enabling existing space to be transformed into a single bedroom, office area, playroom or even an additional show room. Light and ventilation can be provided by fixing Velux roof lights on either side of the loft. The loft stairs can fit a small space on the first floor of the house. Sometimes, you can even get an additional shower room from this type of loft conversion.
